The Karen Beasley Sea Turtle Rescue and Rehabilitation Center
is a 501c3 nonprofit organization staffed by Volunteers.
It is a privilege to work with these magnificent animals,
but we cannot do it alone. The sea turtles need  your help.
PLEASE VISIT OUR SITE
AND MEET OUR PATIENTS.
All donations are directly applied to food, medical supplies, and operating costs of the hospital.
We receive no state or federal funding

Lola passes mystery line after 7 months in rehab.

Released June 10, 2009
Our transcontinental traveler is roaming the seas again. It’s been a long and eventful beginning for a little Kemp’s that’s only about five years old: blown across the Atlantic, in rehab in the UK, two years of government red tape to be repatriated and finally a short stay with us to lose her accent and turn on her sea turtle GPS. After passing several of her “walking tests” where she strolled the sand and oriented herself, she finally got to put flippers to water on a spectacular June 10th
 


Christine Pitcher from the Great Yarmouth Sea Life Center in the UK flew over to pass along best wishes from Willy’s UK fans, and to carry her to the surf.

BALLOONS and TURTLES don't mix
Discarded balloons drift into the water
and are mistaken for food by sea turtles and other marine animals.
Shackleford III was lucky to be able to pass these ingested pieces of balloons.
